Album of the Month

There are very few bands in life that capture raw talent, catchy riffs and funky heart and soul beats that make you uncontrollably want to move your body. The Pool of Frogs from Chicago, IL is just a band, and having seen them perform 3 times, twice in Whitesburg, KY at Summit City Lounge and once during band practice at their home base in Chicago, I can honestly say there is no classification for these guys. They like to refer to their genre as "River Punk" but even that doesn’t cut it. They combine gritty vocals, unworldly percussion, heart thumping bass and old school rhodes piano for a combination that just seems right.
One thing you’ll enjoy most about this band, aside from their album, is their live on stage presence. They tend to bring an electricity to the air that can’t be matched by any other band in Chicago. The animated movements, rock n roll flare and the amazing knack of getting any crowd stirring is completely uncanny, and very rare! On September 15th, Pool of Frogs was voted Chicago artists of the month in a contest sponsered by the The Deli Magazine. Check their official web site for tour dates and upcoming new album relase information, as well as their beloved crazy "Bandisode" series, which has the whole web cracking up at their sense of humor. Pool of Frogs does cator more to adult audiences, so I wouldn’t recommend taking the little ones.
Check em out in Chicago! You’ll love it!
